A Northwest Baltimore residence displaying lawn signs in support of the hostages held in Gaza was vandalized earlier this week.

Surveillance cameras showed a suspect walking onto the front yard of Azi Rosenblum’s house in the 2300 block of Smith Avenue early Tuesday morning, Apr. 15, and tearing down the signs.

The individual also threw a brick in the direction of the window of the house.

Baltimore County Police are looking into the matter. All of the signs have been replaced and reinstalled on the lawn.

“I think it shakes my sense of hope more than security,” Rosenblum told WBAL-TV “This is an unfortunate reality. He ran out and just came right up this line, tearing and knocking down and throwing into the street all of the signs. So they were all knocked down, torn and shredded.”

This was the fourth time in which the property was vandalized since the signs were installed.

In November of 2023, Rosenblum told Jmore he decided to display the signs after visiting Israel in the wake of the Oct. 7 Hamas terrorist attacks.

“It was an inspiring and fascinating time being there, and of course tragic and heartbreaking,” said Rosenblum, 45, a Jerusalem native. “After getting home, I just wanted to do something more. And that’s when all of the signs went up. …

“It’s up there to get the message out, to help keep people focused,” he said. “We can’t forget them. We have to think of them, pray for them, do good deeds in their merit, and do whatever we can.”
