In a press release dated April 30, 2018, The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore announced it has once again achieved the highest ranking by the independent charity oversight organization, Charity Navigator, the country’s largest and most trusted “charitablewatch dog” which evaluates institutional philanthropy throughout the United States. This represents the fifth consecutive year that The Associated has earned the top distinction – an achievement only achieved by less than 10 percent of charities in the nation.
The four-star rating is assigned to organizations which are deemed efficient, effective, transparent, well-managed and successful in fulfillment of mission.
“This distinction is what we expect from The Associated, said Linda A. Hurwitz, longtime Associated volunteer leader and current Chair of the Board, in response to the notification from Michael Thatcher president and CEO of Charity Navigator.
“The accolades are a testament to the exceptional management and staff of The Associated, as well as the army of volunteer leaders who dedicate time, intellect and wisdom. The Baltimore Jewish community can feel extremely proud of this world class organization,” she added.
