DESCRIPTION:The Sisters Freehold theater company will present “Dontrell\, Who Kissed The Sea” by playwright Nathan Alan Davis as their first production of 2024\, at The Peale\, 225 Holliday Street. \nBlending poetry\, humor\, wordplay and ritual\, “Dontrell\, Who Kissed the Sea” is a present-day hero’s quest exploring the lengths and depths we must go to redeem history’s wrongs. Set in Baltimore\, this dramatic comedy follows 18-year-old Dontrell Jones III as he decides it is his duty and destiny to venture into the Atlantic Ocean in search of an ancestor lost during the Middle Passage. \n“Dontrell” will be presented in the round in the Latrobe Room of The Peale during “Black History Month.” Featuring a local cast\, this Charm City story takes stops at Johns Hopkins\, the National Aquarium and the Eastern Shore.
