SUMMARY:Levitas Foundation to Hold Annual Stroll & Roll Event
DESCRIPTION:Join the Erin Levitas Foundation on Saturday\, May 11\, from 8:30 to 11 a.m. for the fifth annual Stroll & Roll 5K and walk at Camden Yards Sports Complex\, 420 Lee Street. \nFriends\, families\, businesses and individual supporters will walk\, run\, dance\, stroll or roll to raise awareness about body safety and boundaries to help in the fight to prevent sexual harm. Participants can join in-person in Baltimore or virtually from anywhere around the world. \nSupporters participating in-person will come together at Camden Yards for a timed 5K or 1.8-mile mobility accessible loop around the iconic Baltimore stadiums and join “Team Prevention.” Participants will receive a free t-shirt with registration and children will receive medals at the end of the event. Following the Stroll & Roll\, families will have the chance to meet Hall-of-Fame Orioles catcher Rick Dempsey\, enjoy a kid’s zone complete with a moon bounce\, giant slide\, face painting\, coloring wall\, receive prevention resources and more! \nFor information about the Stroll & Roll\, to register or sign-up to sponsor\, visit www.strollandroll.info. \nA Baltimore=based nonprofit\, the Erin Levitas Foundation is dedicated to ending sexual assault and provides early education resources for youth\, young people\, caregivers and educators to deconstruct negative attitudes and perceptions that give rise to sexual violence and support healthy behaviors. DESCRIPTION:Join Gallery 1448 for the opening reception / garden party for Tasting Spring\, an exhibition of works by Greg Fletcher and Leslie Schwing. Both artists have been creating artwork professionally for over 40 years. For the past 30 years\, they have been sharing a studio and an art life at Artists Housing Inc. in Baltimore. Together they have developed and maintained the impressive gardens on the grounds of Artists Housing. \nFletcher and Schwing both often paint from life\, then continue those works in-studio. Both artists range in subject and style from abstract to figurative to land- and cityscape\, echoing the tempos and patterns of their cultural origins and experiences\, as well as their influence on each other. \nThe show runs through May 26. There will be a closing reception on Sunday\, May 26\, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. Admission is free. Gallery hours are Fridays & Saturdays\, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and by appointment.
