SUMMARY:Mercy Medical Center Celebrates 150th Anniversary of its Founding
DESCRIPTION:In honor of Mercy Medical Center’s 150th anniversary\, the hospital will present the “We Are 150: Mercy Family Community Celebration.” The “fair-type” party will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday\, Nov. 10\, at the Mary Catherine Bunting Center\, 345 St. Paul Place in downtown Baltimore. \nThere will be food trucks\, games\, activities\, live music\, entertainment and a speaking program. Community partners with whom Mercy employees have worked throughout the year will also be on hand. \nIn observance of the anniversary\, many Mercy employees have volunteered their time and services at the Point Discovery Children’s Museum\, Ronald McDonald House\, First Fruits Farm\, Our Daily Bread and Marian House\, as well as holding collections for the Mount Royal Elementary Middle School and taking part in the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. \nMercy was founded as Baltimore City Hospital in November of 1874 when six Sisters of Mercy arrived in Baltimore to take charge of a small health dispensary that eventually became Mercy Hospital\, and later\, Mercy Medical Center. \nMercy has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Hospitals” ratings for 2022–2023. \nFor information\, visit mdmercy.com/giving/heart-of-mercy \n
