DESCRIPTION:This weekend\, May 2-4\, Northwest Baltimore’s Chevrei Tzedek Congregation will host a “Green Mitzvathon Shabbaton” at the Edward A. Myerberg Center\, at 3101 Fallstaff Road. \nThe weekend will feature talks and discussions\, events and other opportunities to explore yishuv olam\, the Jewish precept of caring for the earth. \nThe scholar-in-residence for the shabbaton will be Rabbi Nina Beth Cardin\, a Baltimore-based\, nationally known author\, activist and expert on Jewish environmentalism. \nSponsors of the weekend include Reisterstown-based Adamah environmental organization\, The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore\, Jewish Educational Services\, the Myerberg Center and BGE. \nOn Sunday\, a “Green Mitzvathon Environment Fair” will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free event will feature a speakers’ bureau\, educational activities and information\, hands-on demonstrations\, food vendors\, children’s activities and more. \nRegistration is closed for the dinners on Friday and Saturday evenings. All events\, with the exception of the dinners\, are free of charge.  \nRegistration is strongly encouraged for all events. The Green Mitzvathon events will offer food that is kosher and vegan. DESCRIPTION:Join the Bismark-Wilson Gallery for the opening reception of Michael Chandler: New & Revisited. \nChandler is an American artist based in Santa Fe. His work is always linked to the surrounding landscape. His artwork has been widely exhibited\, both nationally and internationally\, in places like Stephen Rosenberg Gallery (New York City)\, Springfield Art Museum (Springfield\, MO)\, The Institute of Contemporary Art (Boston\, MA) and Galerie Philippe de Hesdin (Paris\, FR). He has collaborated on projects with David Byrne\, Roy Lichtenstein\, architect Walter Chatham and musician Brian Eno. He has frequently exhibited his work in Baltimore since the early 1990’s. \nThe exhibition runs through May 31. There will be a second opening reception on Sunday\, May 4\, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.\, as well as a closing reception on Sunday\, May 31\, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.
