DESCRIPTION:The Young Victorian Theatre Company will present Gilbert and Sullivan’s “The Yeomen of the Guard ” on July 13 at 3 p.m.\, July 17 at 7 p.m.\, July 19 at 7 p.m.\, July 20 at 3 p.m. at The Gilman School (5407 Roland Ave.\, Baltimore\, Md. 21210). \n“The Yeomen of the Guard” is a comic opera by the popular Victorian-era duo librettist G.S. Gilbert and composer Arthur Sullivan. Set in the shadowy Tower of London\, The Yeomen of the Guard is Gilbert & Sullivan’s most dramatic and emotionally rich operetta. A tale of disguise\, daring escapes\, unrequited love\, and razor-sharp wit\, this production blends heartfelt pathos with the duo’s signature humor and clever wordplay. \nThe leading roles feature Emily Casey as Elsie\, Thomas Hochla as Jack Point; Joseph Regan plays Fairfax\, and Ann Fogler plays Phoebe Meryll; Wilfred Shadbolt is played by Spencer Adamson; Dame Carruthers is played by Rebecca Sacks; and James Rogers performs the role of Sgt Meryll. \nTickets may be purchased online at yvtc.org/.
