SUMMARY:Vagabond Players: ARSENIC AND OLD LACE
DESCRIPTION:Murder\, mayhem\, and impeccable farce take center stage as Vagabond Players brings Joseph Kesselring’s classic ARSENIC AND OLD LACE to the stage Feb. 20 through March 15\, 2026. Directed by Katie Sheldon in her Vagabond Players directorial debut\, the production marks the third offering of the company’s milestone 110th season. \nMeet Aunt Abby and Aunt Martha Brewster—two of the sweetest homicidal maniacs you’ll ever encounter. Only please don’t let them talk you into a glass of their homemade elderberry wine\, because you probably won’t live to regret it! As the corpses begin to pile up\, so does nephew Mortimer Brewster’s panic—not just in trying to fend off the police\, but also his prodigal brother\, Jonathan\, a murderous gangster with a scary new face and a body count that rivals his aunts’. \nIt may not seem hilarious that a dozen men succumb to one of the most unlikely murder plots ever perpetrated in Brooklyn\, N.Y.\, but ARSENIC AND OLD LACE remains one of American theatre’s most enduring comedies\, which exposes the insanity and dark secrets that lie hidden beneath the veneer of an ordinary\, folksy all-American family. \nARSENIC AND OLD LACE runs Feb. 20 – March 15\, 2026\, with performances Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. And check out a special “Thursdays on Broadway” performance March 12 at 8 p.m. when all tickets are just $12. \nFor tickets\, cast and show info visit vagabondplayers.org. Special discounts and group rates are available online. \nLocated in the heart of Baltimore’s historic Fells Point\, Vagabond Players continues its tradition of bold\, intimate theater that sparks conversation and celebrates artistic freedom. Now in its 110th season\, the company remains a cornerstone of Baltimore’s performing arts scene.

SUMMARY:Night of the Living Grateful Dead
DESCRIPTION:People sometimes say\, “Music is my religion\,” or that “Music is the language of the Divine.” Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir\, of blessed memory\, have often been called prophets or philosophers\, and countless people once called Grateful Dead shows their church (or shul). \nJoin Third Space at Shaarei Tfiloh for an intoxicating night of conversation and music with Rabbi Steve Schwartz and local musician Cris Jacobs. Rabbi Schwartz and Jacobs will take the bimah to discuss themes of spiritual identity\, lyrics as sacred text\, and the ways in which inherited wisdom can accompany a person throughout the many trials and tribulations of their lives. \nThere will be stories shared\, reflections of tours and memories over the decades\, readings of favorite Dead lyrics and plenty of renditions of the speakers’ favorite tunes. \nRabbi Schwartz is the senior spiritual leader of Pikesville’s Beth El Congregation and a longtime fan of the Dead. So is Cris Jacobs\, a popular local singer-songwriter known for his work with his former band\, The Bridge. Named one of Rolling Stone’s “10 New Country Artists You Need to Know” in 2017\, Jacobs has collaborated with the Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh (who passed away in 2024) and Dumpstaphunk’s Ivan Neville\, and earned opening slots on tours with Sturgill Simpson and Steve Winwood. \nJoin Third Space for this special event and remember that the first days are the hardest days\, don’t you worry anymore. \n
