SUMMARY:Antisemitism\, Anti-Zionism\, Jewish Safety and the Jewish Future: Crisis and Opportunity for American Jews
DESCRIPTION:While the tragedies of October 7 and its aftermath\, as well as the rise of authoritarianism in the U.S.\, and most recently\, the New York City mayoral election revealed deep schisms in the American Jewish community\, these divisions are not new. Painful fissures have been forming for years over Israel\, Zionism\, and antisemitism in our communities and our institutions\, and our synagogues and our homes. \nAt a flashpoint for both American Jews and our American democracy\, during this session we will explore their impact on the safety of American Jews; the threats and possibilities for our Jewish American future; and what’s at risk for all Americans. \nGinna Green is Founder and Principal at Horizon Philanthropy: Jewish Funders for a Just Future\, an initiative designed to strengthen the American Jewish commitment to an inclusive\, multiracial U.S. democracy. She is also Partner and Chief Strategy Officer at Uprise\, where she leads the practice on philanthropic advising within the Jewish community\, and is a principal strategist for its progressive movement and Jewish social justice sector clients. Previously\, she worked as Chief Strategy Officer at Bend the Arc\, Democracy Program Director at ReThink Media\, and Communications Manager at the Center for Responsible Lending. \nAn alum of the Wexner Heritage Program\, Jeremiah Fellowship\, Selah Leadership Program\, and Schusterman Fellowship\, Ginna also sits on the boards of Bend the Arc\, Jewish Story Partners\, and Women’s March\, and the Leadership Team of the Jewish Social Justice Roundtable. She is the mother of four amazing kids from graduate school to fifth grade\, a native southerner\, a better-than-decent cook\, and a big fan of good bourbon. \nA part of the series Wrestling with Complexity: Israel in Our Time
