In a small bowl, whisk together the syrup, brown sugar and soy sauce and marinate for a minimum of four hours.
Preheat sauté pan for 2-3 minutes then add oil.
Place top side of salmon into the black pepper and press on it so the pepper sticks to the salmon.
Place salmon pepper side down in sauté pan and cook for 2-3 minutes.
Cook salmon in a 350-degree oven for an addition four minutes or until cooked as desired.
Salmon can also be grilled for approximately three minutes per side.
