A Night at the Opera
Maryland Opera will open its sixth season with “L’Amour, Toujours l’Amour” on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Redeemer, 5603 N. Charles Street in Baltimore. The program features selections from Roméo et Juliette, Werther and Faust, including the famous balcony scene from Shakespeare’s classic story and the transcendent finale of Faust. All selections will be staged in the sanctuary at Church of the Redeemer.
A pre-concert lecture will be held in the church’s parish hall from 6-6:30 p.m. to discuss the impact of these iconic scenes. All are welcome at the lecture with the purchase of a ticket to the performance.
Stage and musical direction for all selections is by Maryland Opera’s Artistic Director James Harp.
Tickets are $50-$75 and available on Maryland Opera’s website, marylandopera.org, or by calling 484-678-6041, and at the door on the day of the performance. Seating is limited; advance orders are recommended. Free parking is available in the Church of the Redeemer parking lot adjacent to the building and across Melrose Avenue. Student tickets are also available for $25.
