Let’s face it, summer’s pretty much gone. Yes, it’s that time of the year again when the world seems to be emerging from its summer splendor to a fall season brimming with a host of cultural activities and events.
So much to do, but where to start?

Between Labor Day and December, Baltimoreans will have a tantalizing array of arts-related performances and events to choose from. Each year, new venues — from movie theaters to pop-up music spaces — bring an ever increasing number of people closer to the arts.
In addition to stalwarts like Center Stage and the Baltimore Museum of Art, venues like West Baltimore’s funky Bromo Seltzer Arts Tower and the newly-restored Parkway Theatre on North Avenue, headquarters for the Maryland Film Festival, are injecting new life into Baltimore’s already-vibrant arts scene.
With so much going on, it was daunting to narrow down our listings to include every single event around town. What we’ve included in our first-ever Fall Arts Preview and calendar is a diverse selection of events and performances running the gamut, from the Baltimore Book Festival and the Maryland Renaissance Festival to the Russian Grand Ballet’s elegant rendition of “Swan Lake” and “Cirque Goes Broadway.”
While not every event has a direct Jewish link, we’ve featured four artists and events that share a Jewish connection, whether through their themes or artistic influences and inspiration. We hope you’ll enjoy our Fall Arts Preview, and we look forward to seeing you in the audience.
