Pikesville Volunteer Fire Co. to Hold Annual Chametz Burning
For the fourth straight year, Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company and Beth Tfiloh Congregation & Community School will hold a chametz burning event on Wednesday morning, Apr. 1, from 9 to 11:30.
The burning of the chametz — or leavened products forbidden for consumption during Passover — will take place at the PVFC firehouse, 40 East Sudbrook Lane.
There is no charge at the gathering, but donations to PVFC are appreciated.
PVFC hosts this event as a service to the community in the hopes of preventing home fires. Several community businesses and organizations have made donations in support of the chametz burn, including Pikesville’s Beth Tfiloh, Marble Designs and Edrich Lumber.
Founded in 1897, the PVFC responded to more than 3,800 emergency calls in 2025, making the organization one of the busiest volunteer fire and emergency medical services providers in Baltimore County. For information, visit https://www.pvfd32.org/.
