Ladew Topiary Gardens Opens for 51st Season

Ladew Topiary Gardens marked the grand opening of another season on Friday, April 1, 2022. Once a 250-acre Maryland farm purchased in 1929 by Harvey S. Ladew, the property has been transformed into a whimsical, European-style garden filled with topiaries, garden rooms and a historic manor house where Ladew himself once resided. Ladew Gardens now celebrates its 51st year as a decorated attraction, recognized as the “Most Outstanding Topiary Garden in America” by the Garden Club of America.
Ladew includes more than 100 life-size topiaries on the property, as well as the gorgeous blooms and dozens of gardens throughout. Aside from the natural masterpieces on the property, Ladew is a home for artists and creatives to express themselves through nature and art. This season’s artists-in-residence feature painter Sam Robinson and sculptor Sam Holmes.
Ladew presents nearly 100 special events and educational programs each year. For information about Ladew’s 2022 programming, members and guests can visit the online event calendar . For information about Ladew and its seasonal programming, visit LadewGardens.com.
Ladew is located on Jarrettsville Pike (MD 146), 14 miles north of the Baltimore Beltway (I-695), exit 27B (Dulaney Valley Road North).
