Maryland schools have had a unique role in the history of segregation and integration, often due to the efforts of pioneering legal activist Thurgood Marshall. Both at the university and K-12 levels, Marylanders have been at the forefront of pushing for equal access to quality public education.

Participants will explore case studies in the Passion and Purpose: Voices of Maryland’s Civil Rights Activists exhibition, and model historical investigation for students using primary source collections from the H. Furlong Baldwin Library.
