Howard County Holds Student Essay Writing Contest on the Holocaust
Middle and high school students in Howard County are invited to participate in a Holocaust Remembrance Student Response Contest. Submit an essay, poem or artwork in response to the words survival, liberation and renewal.
The contest provides students with an opportunity to reflect on the atrocities of the Holocaust and how they continue to impact us today. The hope is this will highlight the importance of standing up against hateful actions.
There will be a first and second place prize for each of the two types of entry, written (essay or poem) or art, awarded at the middle school and high school levels. First prize winners will receive $100 each, and second prize winners will receive $50 each.
Entries should be submitted by Mar. 1, 2025, to YomHaShoahEssayContest@gmail.com. For details on how to to enter, click here.
