Post-impressionist oil painter Gretchen Ann Maneval will speak on Thursday, Nov. 21, at 3 p.m. at the new gallery space at Springwell Senior Living Community, 2211 W. Rogers Avenue in Mount Washington. Maneval’s work will be featured in Springwell’s inaugural Avila Art Makers exhibit series.

A Baltimore native, Maneval has been honored by the U.S. Congress, where her self-portrait was on display, and during which time she was also selected as a muralist for Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Avila Art Makers brings stunning artwork and cultural enrichment to Baltimore and Annapolis area senior living communities. In addition to showcasing art, Springwell’s exhibit series will feature artist talks, encouraging residents and their guests to engage with the creators of beautiful and compelling visual art.

“We are honored to host our inaugural Avila Art Makers exhibit with Gretchen’s paintings, and we look forward to the joy and inspiration it will bring to our residents,” said Phil Golden, Springwell’s executive director and principal.

In early 2025, Maneval’s exhibit will move to its next senior living community destination, and Springwell will welcome watercolor painter Steve Bleinberger, whose exquisite seascape paintings come alive with spectacular skies and daring waves.

Both Springwell Senior Living and Avila Home Care are partners of LifeBridge Health, working together to provide comprehensive care and enrichment for seniors in the Baltimore area.
