The Avenue Kitchen & Bar, at 911 W. 36th Street in Hampden, will launch a series of fundraisers to support colon cancer research and the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, starting on Wednesday, Aug. 7.

The initiative is especially meaningful to the restaurant’s owner, Patrick Dahlgren, who recently began chemotherapy treatment at Hopkins after being diagnosed with colon cancer. Dahlgren has been a dedicated supporter of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and is now focusing on this personal cause.

Starting on Aug, 7, The Avenue Kitchen & Bar will host a series of events to raise funds and awareness for colon cancer research. Each event will feature special menus, entertainment and opportunities for guests to contribute to the cause. All proceeds will go directly to the Kimmel Cancer Center to support their cutting-edge research and treatment programs.
