Baltimore’s Bluegrass Tradition to be Celebrated at Pickett Brewing

What better way to celebrate “Leap Day” than by leaping into an intimate evening of Charm City bluegrass on Thursday, Feb. 29, at 6 p.m. at Pickett Brewing Co., 1130 S. Paca Street.
Tim Newby, author of “Bluegrass in Baltimore: The Hard Drivin’ Sound and Its Legacy” (McFarland), will read from his 2015 book and share stories of the rich history of this music style in Baltimore. His storytelling will be interspersed with music from Carroll Swam, Mike Munford, Ryan Rogers and Alex Lacquement. Doors open at 6 p.m.
