B’nai Israel to Hold 150th Anniversary Weekend Celebration
The historic B’nai Israel Synagogue, at 27 Lloyd St. in East Baltimore, will celebrate its 150th anniversary on the weekend of Oct. 27-29. Besides Shabbat services and meals, tours of the building and surrounding neighborhood, and opportunities for socializing and schmoozing, the anniversary weekend will feature such speakers as Rabbi Hershel Reichman, rosh yeshiva of the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University in New York; Dr. Zev Eleff, president of Gratz College in Melrose Park, Pennsylvania; Chazzan Avi Albrecht of Baltimore; and Rabbi Etan Mintz, spiritual leader of B’nai Israel.
