Charm City Cultural Cultivation to Hold HQ Opening Night
The Charm City Cultural Cultivation nonprofit will hold an opening night celebration at its new headquarters in Waverly with the dedication of its inaugural exhibition “The Daily Hustle: Work, Joy, & Community in Baltimore,” highlighting the works of Baltimore photojournalist I. Henry Phillips Sr.
Phillips, who died in 1993 at the age of 73, was a photographer for the Baltimore Afro-American and The Sun. The exhibition features his portraits of labor, commerce and entrepreneurship in the African American community in the middle of the 20th century.
The new headquarters, at 3100 Greenmount Avenue, will serve as a home base for CCCC’s three programs: The Last Resort Artist Retreat, Zora’s Den, and the Black Baltimore Digital Database.
