Chili Cookoff to Benefit Local Homeless Veterans and Others
The Baltimore Station’s ninth annual Stars, Stripes and Chow: Chili Edition, presented by M&T Bank, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 4, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The event is dedicated to raising funds for homeless veterans.
The cookoff features a chili competition between teams from across Maryland. This year’s competitors are M&T Bank, Fuchs NA, MartinFederal, BlueHalo, Maryland Multi-Housing Association and Society of American Military Engineers. The family-friendly event will feature a kid’s zone with activities to keep kids busy in addition to live music, food, beverages, raffles and more.
Guests will cast their vote for “People’s Choice” and “Best Theme,” and an esteemed panel of judges representing each military branch will crown the “Judge’s Choice” champion. All proceeds will benefit The Baltimore Station, an organization supporting individuals, primarily veterans, dealing with homelessness and substance use disorder by providing residential and community-based therapy programs. Tickets cost $40 for early bird adults, $50 for adults; $40 for veterans, active duty, and first responders; $30 for young adults ages 11-20 and kids 10 and under are free.
