Hadassah to Host Program About Israel’s Deaf and Disabled Communities
Hadassah of Greater Baltimore will present the program, “Advocating for Israel: Hearing the needs of Deaf and Disabled Communities in Israel,” on Monday, Jan. 19.

This program features Shirly Pinto Kadosh, joined by interpreter Liat Petcho, and Yakir Eyal. They will discuss advocacy for Israel, and Shirly will highlight her work supporting people with disabilities, including the organization she founded and her ongoing advocacy for Israel’s deaf and disabled communities.
Shirly Pinto Kadosh, the first Deaf member of Israel’s Knesset, is a leading advocate for accessibility and inclusion. After the October 7th attack, she founded The Purple Homefront (Chamal Sagol), a national network providing emergency support for people with disabilities and vulnerable communities. Her work reflects her commitment to a strong and inclusive Israel.
Yakir Eyal is a licensed attorney with a degree in Law and Business from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His work blends legal expertise with a strong commitment to social entrepreneurship and diplomacy. He has been actively involved in community leadership, Holocaust survivor advocacy, and parliamentary mentoring.
