Lee M. Hendler to be Honored at Convention

May 14

The Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations of Maryland will celebrate its 110th annual convention on Thursday, May 14, at the Ateres Elka banquet hall, 2905 Walnut Avenue in Owings Mills.

Founded in 1916, the federation is the only remaining organization of its kind in the nation and encompasses all denominations of Jewish women from 23 organizations and synagogues around Baltimore City and County and Howard County.

A highlight of the one-day event will be the E.B. Hirsh Lifetime Achievement Award, which will be awarded to longtime community leader Lee M. Hendler.

Keynote speaker will be Leslie Simmons, executive vice president and chief operating officer for LifeBridge Health, who will talk about women’s health care.

The convention will conclude with a special awards ceremony honoring a representative from each constituent organization who is “A Woman Who Promotes Well-Being.”

Luncheon by Catering By Shula.  Dietary laws are observed.  Cost is $55.
