Maryland-Based Social Media Personality and Influencer Kyle Marisa Roth Passes Away at 36

A popular TikTok star and celebrity gossip producer, Kyle Marisa Roth passed away on Sunday, Apr. 14. The Chestertown resident, who grew up in Anne Arundel County, was 36.

According to People magazine, the cause of Roth’s death remains unknown. Her mother, Annapolis cannabis industry entrepreneur Jacquie Cohen Roth, wrote on LinkedIn that the family hopes to “understand more in the next few days. … Nothing makes sense now.”

In an Instagram post on Apr. 22, Lindsay Roth, sister of Kyle Marisa Roth, wrote, “Thank you all for showing so much love for my sister. It’s been so touching grieving my sister with thousands, if not millions, of people all over the world.”

A graduate of Severn School in Severna Park, Kyle Marisa Roth majored in accounting at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, with a minor in writing. She also served as captain of Lehigh’s women’s lacrosse team.

After graduation, she worked for one of the Big Four accounting firms and held positions in the commercial real estate industry.

Roth left the real estate and financial worlds and channeled her creative talents toward sharing celebrity news tidbits on TikTok, with an account of more than 202,000 followers while her videos received more than 5 million “likes” in total.

Roth was well-known among fans for her blind items about celebrities and juicy issues of the day, as well as her catchphrase, “You want more? I’ll give you more.” She last posted on Apr. 7.

“Kyle was extremely creative, and perhaps her greatest gift was her ability to gather an extraordinary amount of information, synthesize it, and then present it with insight, humor, and panache,” her family posted on the website of Sol Levinson & Bros. “Over the past four years, Kyle was a prominent presence on the internet, posting original content about ‘gossip blind’ items on TikTok, Instagram, Patreon, and other social media platforms, which garnered close to a million followers. Her posts under ‘The Kyle Marisa’ generated more than a billion views and 50 million likes.”

Wrote Italian-American actress Julia Fox, best known for her co-starring role in the 2019 Adam Sandler film “Uncut Gems,” on Instagram, “I never met Kyle in real life, but I really felt like I knew her. I’m so devastated and have been crying ever since the news leaked on TikTok. I really hope … she knew how much she touched our lives. She was a ray of sunshine and I will miss her deeply.”

Jacquie Cohen Roth wrote about her daughter on LinkedIn, “She touched some of your lives personally and some of your lives via her immense life on another platform. Kyle loved and lived fiercely.”

Kyle Marisa Roth is survived by her mother and father, Jacqueline C. Cohen Roth and Robert L. Roth (Wendy Sand Eckel); her sisters, Lindsay Anne Roth and Sage Elana Roth (Jeffrey M. Burke); her niece, Thalia Mae Roth-Burke, and her Yorkie companion, Hamilton,

She was predeceased by her grandparents, Albert and Fay Roth, and Dr. Nathan A. Cohen and Thalia L. Cohen.

A celebration of her life will be private.
