Several Jewish media outlets have reported that Reed S. Cordish, a principal in the Baltimore-based Cordish Companies, is joining the Trump administration as assistant to the president.
A call from Jmore was left for Cordish but not yet returned.
The Cordish Companies is primarily involved in real estate, entertainment, gaming, hotel, residential, and sports-anchored district projects.
The youngest son of David S. Cordish, CEO and chairman of the Cordish Companies, Reed Cordish, 42, is a close friend of Jared Kushner, son-in-law of the president-elect.
Cordish and his wife of six years, Margaret Katz “Maggie” Cordish, were reportedly introduced by Ivanka Trump, Kushner’s wife and daughter of the president-elect. Ivanka Trump and Maggie Cordish were originally friends at the University of Pennsylvania.
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner attended the Cordishes’ wedding in Oct. 2010, which was held in Baltimore and officiated by Rabbi David Wolfson.
In October, Reed Cordish co-hosted a fundraiser in Baltimore for Trump’s presidential campaign. David Cordish, a friend and former business adversary of Trump’s, was also in attendance.
David Cordish is a board member of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.
Reed Saunders Cordish graduated from Princeton University. Before joining the Cordish Companies, he was a world-ranked professional tennis player on the Association of Tennis Professionals Tour.
His mother, Penelope S. Cordish of Baltimore, is an associate professor of English at Goucher College.
Reed and Margaret Cordish have two daughters and live in the Keswick community.
