Meet some of Charm City’s premier business and professional leaders, coming from the worlds of academia, business, medicine, food service and philanthropy.

Jeff Elkin, President, Advance Business Systems

In 2019, Advance Business Systems launched a new initiative to continue its long history of giving back to the community. Dubbed “We Live and Believe This Stuff,”  a play on the company’s iconic tag line, “We Live and Breathe This Stuff,” the basis of the initiative is to encourage Advance’s 170 employees to provide even greater support of Advance’s local nonprofit partnerships and the causes they believe in.

The goals of the “We Live and Believe This Stuff” program are to perpetuate the culture of giving created by Advance’s founders Alan and Lois Elkin; foster and maintain strong community partnerships as well as relationships among Advance team members and the local community; and provide employees with experiences and opportunities they may not otherwise have been exposed to, such as community service days held this year in partnership with The Arc Baltimore, the Believe in Tomorrow Foundation, and the Maryland Food Bank.

“We realized that when we mobilize our entire workforce in this way, we can contribute over 1250 hours of community service and that can have an incredible impact,” says Advance’s president, Jeff Elkin.

“Advance is proud to continue its long legacy of community service by empowering its team with the resources and opportunities to positively impact the community,” says Elkin. “We believe that it is our responsibility and honor as a local organization to advocate for and take steps to influence true change in the community that has been so good to us for over 55 years.”
