Over the next few months, the Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations of Maryland will hold a series of virtual events.

At its opening meeting on Thursday, Oct. 15, at 10 a.m., the 104-year-old organization will feature former Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski (D-Md.) in a Zoom presentation. “A Conversation with Barbara Mikulski: Challenges of Leadership from a Woman’s Perspective” will focus on how the retired lawmaker dealt with issues within a male-dominated working environment. She will also discuss how she managed her profession and became a formidable national leader. A short business meeting will precede the featured presentation.

On Thursday, Nov. 19, at 7:30 p.m., the federation will present Michele E. Gilman, professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law.  Gilman will talk about women’s issues at the U.S. Supreme Court that have been tabled but will likely resurface in 2021.

Also, on Thursday, Jan. 21, at 10:30 a.m., Barry Rascovar, former Baltimore Sun editor and writer, and co-author of “The Great Game of Politics” (Baltimore Sun), will speak via Zoom or in person, depending on the status of the pandemic. Following a brief business meeting, Rascovar will speak on “After the Inauguration: What Next?”
