Byron T. Deese

Byron T. Deese is the Relationship Development Manager for Glass Jacobson Financial Group and a Retirement Plan Consultant within the firm’s investment advisory division, with offices in Owings Mills and Rockville, Maryland. Byron specializes in providing retirement plan services for small businesses, while helping the employees prepare for life after their working years. A native of Sanford, Florida, and resident of Hanover, Maryland, Byron is a graduate of Tuskegee University, with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. In the community, Byron is active with Baltimore City Community College Foundation, Abilities Network, and Associated Black Charities as a Board Member. Byron was inducted into the Professional Advisor Recognition Society (PARS) in 2020 by the Baltimore Community Foundation and is also member of their Investment Committee. He is also an Advisory Board Member of the Eubie Blake Center for Performing Arts in Baltimore. Byron is married to his best friend Maria and they have one daughter, Matyson Aleah.

steven heller

Steven J. Heller currently serves as co-founder and partner of Heller Kowitz Insurance Advisors, a boutique independent insurance brokerage, housed in Green Spring Station. Anyone who knows Steve can attest to his passion for helping others. With over 25 years of insurance underwriting experience, Steve oversees and manages the firm’s property casualty insurance operations. A combination of both underwriting and claims experience has allowed Heller Kowitz to attract and retain individuals, families, and business owners, who value protection and advisory. A native of Baltimore, Steven and his wife Kyra live in Reisterstown. He is also involved with the Climb for Hope Foundation which raises money for targeted MS and Cancer related research trials. Steve’s 2019 summit attempt of El Dorado Peak, located in the North Cascade Mountains, helped the team raise over $20,000.

George Nemphos

George J. Nemphos is a founding member of Nemphos Braue, a Mid-Atlantic boutique law firm, representing entrepreneurs, start-ups, emerging and mature companies, as well as venture capital and private equity funds. He has extensive experience working with private equity to lead M&A deals including spin-offs, roll-ups, minority interest acquisitions and joint ventures, as well as advising in capital raising efforts, and supporting entrepreneurs to grow and scale their businesses. George holds a LLM from Georgetown and a J,D. from the University of Baltimore. He volunteers at St. Paul’s School for Boys, was the 2019 Auction Chair for the American Heart Association Heart Ball, and serves on the Board of Directors for both Driving Force Group and the American Diabetes Association.

David Polashuk

David Polashuk is a 1989 graduate of the University of Maryland School of Law where he was admitted to the Order of the Coif for graduating in the top 10 of his law school class. Mr. Polashuk practices in the area of Federal and State Tax Controversy, Tax Crimes, and Business Litigation and Planning. He has been recognized numerous times as a Maryland “Super Lawyer” in Baltimore Magazine and as a “Smart Lawyer” by Smart CEO Magazine. He is a past Chair of the Maryland Bar Association Tax Sections, Tax Controversy Study Group, a past member of the Maryland State Bar Association Tax Council and a former Chairman of the American Bar Association Tax Section’s Taxpayer Bill of Rights Task Force, as well as a member of the American Association of Attorney-CPAs.
