Jmore and PressBox are proud media co-sponsors of the 20th annual Miles That Matter Pikesville 5K, which will be held Sunday, Nov. 14, at Woodholme Center, 1829 Reisterstown Rd.
The event benefits There Goes My Hero, a nonprofit that supports families impacted by blood cancer, and the Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce, formerly the Pikesville-Owings Mills Regional Chamber.
Since its inception 20 years ago, the Pikesville 5K has raised more than $1.5 million for cancer nonprofits and supported Pikesville. The event features a 5K run/walk and a post-race celebration.
“I am proud that in its 20th year, the Pikesville 5K is still running and still giving back to our community,” said Beth Rheingold, president and CEO of the Greater Baltimore Chamber of Commerce. “The nonprofits that we have supported in the last 20 years have grown to form their own 5Ks or grown in size; most recently, for example, the Ulman Cancer Foundation. …
“We are thrilled that this year’s event will support both There Goes My Hero, as well as Pikesville revitalization, a project our chamber is specifically focusing on for 2022,” Rheingold said
