Last Thursday afternoon, Sept. 21, Pikesville’s Beth Tfiloh Dahan Community School dedicated its Louise D. and Morton J. Macks Family Library. The upgraded and expanded Upper School Library provides students with an environment conducive to independent study and group learning.
The space offers enhanced technological capabilities and access in a collegiate environment, with modern and flexible furniture as well as an open-floor design to elevate the teaching, learning and researching experiences for students and teachers.

At the dedication program, Beth Tfiloh honored the Owings Mills-based Louise D and Morton J Macks Family Foundation for its “vision and generosity to support the renovation of the Macks Upper School Library.”
With a collection of approximately 12,000 books and 1,400 videos in general studies and Judaics, the library and media center offers access to an online library catalog, databases and eBooks. The databases provide students with full-text access to thousands of periodicals and other reference sources, both in school and off-campus on virtually any research topic.

“The Macks Family, and especially Morty (z’l) and Louise, played a pivotal role in the founding of our High School,” said Dr. Zipora Schorr, Beth Tfiloh’s director of education, in a statement. “How very special it is that the Macks family dedicated the library over 30 years ago when the High School was initially founded, and has generously chosen to sponsor the renovations of the library today so that our school can continue to thrive.”
