From Monday through Thursday of this week, representatives of SECU, Maryland’s largest credit union, are surprising visitors at Sinai Hospital with free parking in the garage and parking lot in honor of Kindness Month.
The campaign was created to inspire 500,000 acts of kindness throughout the state in 2023.

During the annual campaign, SECU performs one grand act of kindness to surprise and delight a local community organization, nonprofit or group in need.
On Tuesday morning, Oct. 3, Sarah Ryan, assistant vice president of community engagement at SECU, was on site to present Amy Shlossman, Sinai’s president and chief operating officer, with a check for $15,000 covering parking costs over the course of the week.
SECU’s “Kindness Team” was also on hand at the pop-up event that day to greet visitors at the lot.
In addition, SECU’s Kindness Campaign included providing more than 300 pairs of Comrad compression socks to Sinai workers constantly on their feet in the emergency department.
