If you’re among the large numbers of Americans who place weight loss and wellness at the top of their New Year’s resolution lists, Kerryann Gross, owner of Evexia Weight Loss and Wellness Center in Pikesville and Parkville, may be the answer to your prayers.

Kerryann Gross

Gross, a nurse practitioner with over 20 years of experience in the healthcare industry, opened her clinics during the COVID -19 pandemic to combat some of the comorbidities associated with poor COVID- related outcomes.

“Looking at the studies of people that died, have long COVID, or other COVID-related health complications, I saw that many of them had poor outcomes because of metabolic issues like diabetes, hypertension and obesity,” says Gross, who spent seven years treating patients in a Harford County gastroenterology practice.

Despite her vast knowledge of metabolic illnesses, Gross was frustrated by the limits traditional medical settings placed on her work with patients.

At her Evexia clinics, Gross prescribes weight loss medications when appropriate, but also works with patients on nutrition and exercise regimens and focuses on lifestyle changes. She spends quite a bit of time getting to know her patients, (not a luxury available in most medical offices), so she’s able to create treatment plans that account for their personal preferences.

“I’m not going to put a vegan on a high protein diet of chicken and beef and I’m not going to put someone with a chronic knee pain on a treadmill,” Gross says. Instead, she works collaboratively with her patients to develop plans that offer the best chance for long-term success.

“I’m seeing great results! Patients are energized, they’re feeling better and they’re coming in not reporting their ailments, but their wins.
