Immerse yourself in Founder’s Grove at Centennial Park, explore Columbia’s urban landscapes and find unique charm in Savage and the serene farmlands near Western Regional Park. Howard County promises a diverse and captivating cherry blossom experience just waiting to be explored.

This year, Howard County invites you to a prolonged celebration of cherry blossoms, estimated to bloom from April 12 to May 12, extending your window to enjoy both Washington, D.C., and Howard County blooms. Dive into the Plein Air Experience, painting the blossoms, and potentially see your artwork showcased at the Howard County Welcome Center in Old Ellicott City from May 18 to June 2.

Howard County invites you to celebrate Earth Day weekend with a lineup of events that promise community spirit, environmental awareness and family fun.

Earth Day Celebration at Merriweather District (April 20, 10 a.m.-Noon): Join the festivities at Color Burst Park in Columbia with interactive activities, live DJ, yoga, DIY workshops and more. The first 100 families receive deciduous tree seedlings, and the first 100 children get butterfly wing capes.

Springfest 2024 in Old Ellicott City (April 20, 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm): Experience vibrant family fun with outdoor stages, artisan crafts and beer/wine gardens in the historic town. Explore 80-plus shops and restaurants, celebrating the arrival of spring.

Earth Day Celebration at Clarksville Commons (April 20, 1-4 p.m.): Join the green movement with environmental nonprofits, local farmers and an electric vehicle display. Connect with like-minded individuals and be part of the EV owners meet-up.

Make the most of your experience by staying overnight in Howard County’s hotels. Immerse yourself in farm-to-table dining, savor local craft beverages, and connect with the local community about environmental awareness.
