In celebration of the Fourth of July, Atrium Village senior living community in Owings Mills recently hosted a special gathering honoring residents who are veterans of World War II, the Korean and the Vietnam wars.
The event featured a presentation by Capital Region Honor Flight, a national program that serves veterans from the Maryland, Delaware and D.C. area, followed by a pinning ceremony for 22 veterans by William Beverly, commander of American Legion Post 122 in Randallstown.
The gathering also featured the unveiling of an Honor Wall at Atrium Village paying tribute to the 22 veterans. The Honor Wall exhibits plaques saluting the veterans.
In addition, the event featured a presentation by Jenny Brawley, program director of Honor Flight, and Mark Brickell, coordinator of volunteers at Honor Flight Network.
