‘It’s Hanukkah’ Video is a Family Affair to Celebrate the Holiday Season

How does the Balis family get into the spirit of the holiday season? By making a homemade video with funky beats and old-school rhymes, of course, celebrating the Festival of Lights.

And as the infectious tune goes, “The date don’t matter/it’s comin’ real soon!” (By the way, Chanukah this year will be celebrated from Dec. 25 to Jan. 2.)

Nate Balis, a Catonsville resident and member of Columbia Jewish Congregation, recently wrote and created the “It’s Hanukkah” video with his brother, Ethan Balis, featuring performances by their “kiddos” under the band name of Bayliss.

Their goal? Simply to spread the light and joy of the holiday season to others, all to a relentless hip-hop beat.

Mission accomplished.

The video is now streaming on social media platforms and YouTube.
