Black Bean Burgers

Black Bean Burgers

Elite Jakob
Servings 4 burgers

Ingredients
  

  • 1 can (14 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 red onion, diced small
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 roasted red pepper from a jar, or fresh, diced small
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup oats
  • 1 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Instructions
 

  • Mince the black beans until smooth, you can use a blender or use a hand- held masher. Add all the rest of the ingredients and mix until combined.
  • Cover and place in the refrigerator for 2 hours to 24 hours
  • In a large skillet, spray with olive oil and turn up the heat to medium.
  • Form 4 even patties and cook in a large skillet with a thin coat of olive oil, approximately 4 minutes on each side.
  • Gently flip them and sear for about 4 minutes on each side.
  • Fix the patties on a plate and serve with a side salad or with the usual burger fixings and a bun.
