Nan Debuskey Rosenthal, Veteran Development Professional, Dies at 88

Nan Debuskey Rosenthal, a veteran public relations, development and events planning professional, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The Baltimore resident was 88.

A native of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, Rosenthal attended Forest Park Senior High School (graduating class of 1955), the University of Maryland, and the University of California, Los Angeles

During her career, she served as vice president of development at MedStar Harbor Hospital, as an events coordinator at the Edward A. Myerberg Center, and as community outreach and development director for Concert Artists of Baltimore.

“She was a beautiful, kind, loving and caring person. Always had a smile and a kind word,” wrote Ruth and Marty Schnitzer on the website of Sol Levinson & Bros.

Rosenthal is survived by her daughters, Ruth (Michael) Parnes and Connie Rosenthal Berman; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Parnes, Andrew Parnes, Hannah Berman and Toby Berman; and Richard Rosenthal, her husband of 23 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Charles Debuskey and Maggie Hayes.

Services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 13, at noon at Sol Levinson’s Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road in Pikesville. Interment at Har Sinai Cemetery, 11401 Garrison Forest Road in Owings Mills.

Contributions in her memory may be sent to Baltimore School of the Arts, 712 Cathedral Street, Baltimore, Maryland 21201.

The family will be in mourning at 2401 Sugarcone Road in Northwest Baltimore immediately following interment with a service at 8 p.m., continuing on Friday with a service at 7:30 a.m.

“Nan is one of the finest, sweetest, brilliant people I have ever known,” radio talk show and podcast host Marc Steiner posted on social media. “Our years working together were uniquely memorable and special for me Our lunches, dinners and talks together will remain in my heart and consciousness forever!”
