For Party-worthy Eyes:

Step 1:

Apply eye shadow primer to ensure that makeup lasts through the night.

Step 2:

Avoid super-shimmery eyeshadows as they are likely to crease long before the party’s over. Instead, choose a soft shimmery gray or pale brown shade and apply gingerly to your entire eyelid. With a light touch, add dark brown, deep gray, or navy blue shadow to the outer corners, working your way inward.

Try Natasha Denona Star Eyeshadow Palette, Bobbi Brown Everything Eyes Palette, Naked Smokey Eye Palette or Smashbox Full Exposure Eye Palette. Budget conscious options include Makeup Revolution Iconic Smokey Palette and Elf Mad for Matte.

Step 3:

Use black pencil or liquid liner to draw wings at the corners of your top lids. Apply rose-gold or nude eyeliner to your waterline to brighten and make eyes appear larger. For a unique New Year’s Eve look, layer silver liquid liner over black liner.

Try Smashbox Always-On Gel Pencil Liner, NYX Matte Liquid Liner, Tarte Fake Awake Nude Eyeliner and NYX Wonder Pencil.

Step 4:

Apply a soft highlighter on your brow-bone, inner eye corners, and on the inner lower lash-line.

Try Benefit High Brow Highlight & Lift Pencil.

Step 5:

Apply false eyelashes after eyeshadow and eyeliner but before mascara! Hold lashes up to your eyes. Working from the outer corners, use tweezers to trim to desired width. Do not trim lash length.

Try Kiss Beauty Lashes, Eyelure Lashes and Ardell Whispy Lashes.

Using a cotton swab, dot a thin layer of glue across the false lash band from corner to corner or dip individual lash weft into adhesive and wait approximately 3-5 seconds while blowing air on it. Gently press lashes onto eyelids at the lash-lines.

Finish by curling lashes and applying a coat of mascara. Stash some eyelash glue in your purse for midnight touchups!

Try Ardell Duo Lash Adhesive Dark, Tarte Pro Little Lash Helper or CoverGirl Clump Crusher Mascara.

 For Eye-Catching Holiday Lips

Step 1:

Exfoliate and moisturize

Try Bite Beauty Agave Kisses set and Tarte Lip Facial Lip Scrub.

Step 2:

Line lips and fill in with a matching lipstick shade. For blue or green eyes, choose a red lipstick with slight orange undertones like NARS Jungle Red. For darker eyes, go for a red lipstick with blue undertones like Smashbox Infrared Matte. Women with deeper skin tones should opt for darker reds with violet undertones such as MAC Ruby Roo.

Budget-conscious options include Maybelline’s Red Revival and Revlon Fire and Ice.

For a different look, substitute copper eyeshadow for lipstick using a brown eyeliner to line your lips.

Step 3:

Use a nude eyeliner pencil around the outer perimeter of lips to accentuate their shape.

Try NYX Wonder Pencil and Smashbox Always-Sharp Waterproof Kohl Mechanical Liner Pencil in Bare-Nude.
