Baltimore Center Stage‘s new season announcement was released on March 8. In the press release, Executive Director Michael Ross described the lineup as “a season of acclaimed hits, voices new and returning, and stunning theatricality.”
Here’s the schedule:
“Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” Sept. 13-Oct. 14 — Tennessee Williams’ classic American drama takes place over one sizzling Southern night in a house full of family tensions and secrets.
“King of the Yees,” Oct. 25-Nov. 18 — Playwright Lauren Yee travels through space, time and the Fourth Wall to find her Chinese-American father and save his story in this contemporary family comedy.
“A Wonder in My Soul,” Nov. 29-Dec. 23 — Marcus Gardley’s story of friendship and family takes place in a Baltimore beauty shop as the co-owners and best friends must make a major decision.
“Fun Home,” Jan. 17-Feb. 24 — The Tony Award-winning musical based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel is described as “a coming-out musical, based on a true family.” With music by Jeanine Tesori, book and lyrics by Lisa Kron.
“Indecent,” Feb. 28-March 31 — Paula Vogel’s (“The Baltimore Waltz,” “How I Learned to Drive”) drama follows the true story of a troupe of Yiddish theater artists from 1906 Warsaw to 1923 Broadway.
“How to Catch Creation,” May 2-26 — Christina Anderson, winner of the Lorraine Hansberry Award, presents a bittersweet tale of finding and following one’s passions in this world premiere.
