For more than a century, Dalmatians have been been the canine breed most closely associated with firehouses and fire companies. But the folks at the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company (Station 32) are taking things a step further, and this Sunday morning, July 28, will offer their first-ever “Puppy Yoga” fundraising event.

Proceeds from the event will benefit PVFC, located at 40 E. Sudbrook Lane, and Fidos for Freedom, a Laurel-based nonprofit that trains and provides service/therapy dogs for people in need.

The PVFC gathering will be broken up into three components: yoga session no. 1 from 9-9:45; a light breakfast sponsored by Giant Food, First Watch and Trader Joe’s, with a meet-and-greet and photo-op session from 9:45 to 10:45; and then yoga session no. 2 from 10:45 to 11:30.

The classes will be appropriate for all levels of yoga experience, taught by Dena Leibowitz, founder and owner of Zenlife Yoga Boutique & Juice Bar in Towson.

Anyone who purchases a ticket today, July 26, or Saturday, July 27, will be entered into a raffle for a $20 First Watch gift card.

Established in 1897, the PVFC has nearly 120 active members and is one of the largest and busiest volunteer fire companies in Baltimore County.
