Local attorney and community lay leader Jason A. Blavatt was recently named development chair for The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore’s 2022 Annual Campaign.
In this role, Blavatt will work closely with the 2022 Campaign Cabinet, a group of committed volunteers tasked with raising the funds necessary to support The Associated system during the 2022 fiscal year.
Blavatt succeeds Linda A. Hurwitz and Philip E. “Pete” Sachs, who served as development co-chairs for the past two years.
A managing partner at Blavatt and Blavatt LLC, an Owings Mills-based law firm, Blavatt has been involved with The Associated for more than 15 years. Currently a member of the Board of Directors, he has served on the organization’s Planning and Allocations Committee, the Life and Legacy Committee, and the Young Leadership Council, as well as taken on multiple roles supporting The Associated’s Israel and Overseas agenda.
In addition, Blavatt has held numerous volunteer positions throughout the community. He is a past chairman of the board and current board member of LifeBridge Health, chairman of the Baltimore County Human Relations Commission, and past president and current board member of Chizuk Amuno Congregation.
“Over the years, Jason has shown tremendous leadership and passion for our collective mission,” said Marc B. Terrill, president of The Associated. “Having been involved in all aspects of our organization, he understands how vital our fundraising efforts are to the ongoing health of our community, particularly as we address the needs that are arising during and post-pandemic.”
A Phi Kappa graduate of Gettysburg College, Blavatt earned his law degree from the Dickinson School of Law of the Pennsylvania State University. A married father of two, he lives in Reisterstown.
