Antietam Battlefield to Hold Annual Memorial Illumination

Antietam National Battlefield will present its annual Memorial Illumination program to honor the 23,000 casualties from the Battle of Antietam on Sept. 17, 1862. The event is a driving tour open to the public starting at 6 p.m. Cars enter the park by traveling west on Route 34 and lining up on the shoulder of the road. Cars are allowed to enter the event until midnight. Walking is not allowed.
