Community to Host ‘Shuk to the Core’ to Help Israeli Vendors

The Baltimore Jewish Council will join its community partners to present “Shuk to the Core” at Pikesvillle’s Beth Tfiloh Congregation, 3300 Old Court Road, on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 3-9 p.m.
Approximately 40 Israeli merchants who have been severely impacted by the current situation in Israel will make Baltimore their first stop on a three-week tour of U.S. Jewish communities.
The nonprofit Areyvut has been sponsoring Israel vendor fairs in New York and New Jersey since Oct. 7, 2023, as a way to provide much-needed financial support to Israeli vendors who are dependent on sales from tourists and are currently desperate for customers. They will bring a wide range of merchandise, including art, jewelry, Judaica, kippot, crafts, books and more. Falafel and pizza will be available for purchase, and there will be supervised children’s activities from 5-9 pm.
There is a $5 admission charge for adults ($18 max per family) attending the Shuk to help subsidize vendors’ air fare and the cost of shipping their merchandise to the United States. Timed entry tickets are recommended to be purchased in advance to assist with crowd control and parking.
