Rabbi Debi Wechsler to be Honored by Chizuk Amuno
On the weekend of June 20-22, Pikesville’s Chizuk Amuno Congregation will present “A Weekend of Gratitude: Celebrating 25 Years with Rabbi Deli Wechsler.” Rabbi Wechsler will leave the congregation at the end of June. The weekend will include:
Camp-Style Kabbalat Shabbat & Ma’ariv
5:30 p.m. Mingle with a specialty drink and hors d’oeuvres prior to the outdoor musical, camp-style Kabbalat Shabbat service led by Rabbi Wechsler, Rabbi Sam Blustin and Leslie Pomerantz outdoors in the Ben and Esther Rosenbloom Amphitheater. Joyful white attire encouraged. (RSVP here.)
Saturday, June 21
Shabbat Service and Kiddush Luncheon
9:30 a.m. Shabbat services in the sanctuary with special guests, followed by a Kiddush luncheon in the Krieger Auditorium. There will be a special aliyah for all Krieger High Holy Day attendees.
Sunday, June 22
Celebratory Brunch, Program, & Learning
10 a.m. A celebration of Rabbi Wechsler’s 25 years of service at Chizuk Amuno with a festive brunch, learning session and program. This program is geared toward adults. (Registration for this program is now closed. Due to the nature of this special program, there can be no walk-in admissions.)
In addition to the celebratory weekend, a key part of the congregation’s farewell is the creation of the Rabbi Debi Wechsler Beit Midrash Endowment Fund, which will support the Beit Midrash programming that has been a cornerstone of her rabbinate.
