UMBC Center for Ethics and Values to Host Talk on Catastrophe and Love

As part of its inaugural year, the UMBC Center for Ethics and Values will host five public forums on a range of topics from a lineup of guest speakers from various academic and professional backgrounds. On May 8, the forum topic will be “Existential Catastrophe and the Love of Humanity,” featuring Dr. Samuel Scheffler, professor of philosophy and law at New York University, who will deliver the Evelyn Barker Memorial Lecture.
This event is free and open to the public, and there will be a special alumni reception prior to the forum from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Engineering Building Atrium.
This event is part of the Dresher Center’s Humanities Forum and will be held at UMBC’s Fine Arts Recital Hall.
