Shabbat in the Park!

Approximately 30 local Jewish families with kids under 4 gathered at Meadowood Regional Park on July 8, for a “Shabbat in the Park” event. The Community Connector gathering was organized by Laurie Rosen, Community Connector for the Pikesville and Mount Washington areas.
The Community Connector program is a project of the  Louise D. and Morton J. Macks Center for Jewish Education.
Families sang Shabbat songs, read Shabbat stories and enjoyed challah on a picture-perfect day. Most of the families stuck around the park long after the event to enjoy a beautiful day on the playground.
“My goal was 10 families, and we had 30,” said Rosen. “We will definitely be doing this again! These events are about bringing the community together, and that’s truly what we are doing. People are excited and want more activities within the Jewish community.”
A “Shabbat in the Park” event is currently being planned for August.
