Creating the Ultimate Political Party

Dear National Politicians,

Hope all’s well with you. As I recently listened to patriotic music on the Fourth of July and watched fireworks illuminate the night sky, it occurred to me what our patriots and Founding Fathers were fighting for — self-rule, independence and most of all, freedom! And I’m sure they weren’t really concerned about what political party to join as soon as they defeated the British.

Does it really matter what party you’re affiliated with? Isn’t it true what matters most is finding solutions to issues challenging our nation?

Hey politicians, you’re all too smart to be reduced to blaming each other all day long. Did you forget we’re all on the same side? So I’m saying to ALL OF YOU — Democrats, Republicans, independents, all zodiac signs — it doesn’t matter if you’re from the United States, another planet or a member of the animal kingdom. Please start working together.

But for just a few minutes, can you please imagine if we didn’t have a party system? And just for another moment, only think about what a significant majority of Americans agree on and really want? Isn’t it your job to represent the majority, even if it’s silent?

For your convenience, I put together a list of what the majority of Americans agrees on. If it’s a large majority or a majority by just a few percentage points, it’s still a majority. That’s what a democracy is all about.

For some reason, it seems both parties picked certain topics out of a hat so they can waste everyone’s time fighting. It doesn’t matter what the topic is, as long as you’re fighting, everyone who votes for you will think you’re doing your job. I think you call it spin. But it’s time for all of you to act like public servants.

So there’s no confusion, I put a “D” for Democrats and an “R” for Republicans next to what most Americans identify each party with:

Climate change (D)
Fiscal responsibility (balancing our budget and eliminating our national debt) (R)
Funding Planned Parenthood (D)
Fix the entitlement benefits system (R)
Same-sex marriage (D)
Help businesses create more jobs to produce more income tax revenue (R)
Law-abiding illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay (D)
A strong military (R)
Pro-Choice (D)

Wouldn’t it be awesome if we created a party that represents “All of the Above”? If we took the best of what each party stood for and put them into one entity, what would we have? A party representing a majority of our population. It’s really the “Ultimate Political Party” that Americans “in the middle” would be excited to join!

We all know our “double-dynasty” party system could use a little (or a lot) of competition. And there’s a growing number of people who are turned off by the status quo and hungry for something new! Are you ready to become bold, energetic leaders and not politicians? We know you have it in you.

So to get you started, we came up with the name of our new party. We wanted something we can relate to and be proud of. Something that’s patriotic, and something that honors all those who fought to create and defend our great nation.

How about the “Sons and Daughters of Liberty”? Ring any bells? That’s the original American political party. Would you join it? Support it? Be passionate, and most of all, lead it? The “Sons and Daughters of Liberty” are looking for leaders to reunite our country. Talk about a potential landslide election, this could be it!

Remember, it’s about our children’s future. So how do we get the word out? Jmore is certainly a good start. Any and all ideas are welcome!

And please always remember, for our country’s future, silence is not golden.
