The Federation of Jewish Women’s Organizations of Maryland will hold its 106th annual convention virtually on Wednesday, May 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m..

The theme of this year’s convention is “The Changing Roles of Women for the Future.” At the gathering, the federation will honor one member from each constituent organization with the “A Woman Who Embraces Change” award.

The federation is an umbrella group of statewide nonprofit organizations and sisterhoods committed to leadership training, support of the Jewish community and advocacy of issues of major concern.

Also to be honored at the convention will be Annette B. Saxon, who will receive the E.B. Hirsh Lifetime Achievement Award. The award recognizes women in the local Jewish community who have demonstrated the values, commitments and involvement that Hirsh exemplified.

Saxon is the chair of Associated Women, which provides leadership development and engagement opportunities for women in the Baltimore Jewish community. She also serves on the executive committee of the board of governors and board of directors of The Associated: Jewish Federation of Baltimore, and is currently on the board of directors of the Jewish Community Centers Association of North America.
