The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore’s annual Community Block Party is back!
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the free, family-friendly festival will return for its seventh year on Sunday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Owings Mills JCC, 3506 Gwynnbrook Ave.
Organizations, local businesses and other vendors will be on hand to offer fun activities for kids and entertainment for all.
This year’s block party will feature performances by Baby Beats, aka “Beatboxing Dads,” Jamaal ‘Mr. Root’ Collier and Max Bent, who provide age-appropriate Hip-Hop for children; the Chicago-based Mr. D’s Magic & Illusion Show; Guava Jelly, an Annapolis-based, Caribbean-influenced music trio; the JCC Children’s Production Theatre, which will perform a song from their spring musical “Frozen”; and the Lutherville Rock School’s band Out of Curiosity.

The block party will also feature giant lawn games, inflatables, a petting zoo, bubble artistry, face painting, strolling performers, a marketplace, food for sale and more.
“We could not be more thrilled to bring back our well-loved Community Block Party,” said JCC CEO Barak Hermann. “As a convener of community, the J looks forward to celebrating the vibrant and diverse communities of Owings Mills, Reisterstown and beyond. After an unanticipated two-year break, we are excited that the block party will be back and better than ever!”
